I received a professional tarot reading, or a “cold reading,” in English for the first time on the last day of my business trip to Manhattan, New York. No, it’s not like I like this kind of thing. I kind of went in for fun, but she was so smooth it really freaked me out. It can be said that she forked my past precisely but at the same time, they are phrases which could be applied to anybody (you call them stock spiels). Still, the bold, calm and caring but not too personal way she told it to me was really convincing. Had I not known the secret of this art, I might have paid her the amount of money she asked for. (I excluded how I answered her because they are quite personal and you wouldn’t want to read it lol).

In the end of the approximate 30 minute tarot session she suggested I pay $600 for a crystal for good luck, 3 weeks meditation on her part using candles to look into my spirit and family spiritual background and find solutions. I know if I pay this she is going to go for another $1,000- or so and on and on till I find the absurdness and quit (or lose all my money and my mind). I only gave her the initial $35 for the reading and left. And I am heading back to Japan in about 6 more hours as I write this.

Cold reading is an awesome and beguiling art. And I am still kind of spooked.

PS:
I taped the whole session on my iPhone and still haven’t listened to it. I am going to go through it one more time during my 14 hours’ flight back to Japan. What really scares me is that during the reading her eyes seemed completely focused on my breast pocket where I hid the phone. She was either focusing on my breast pocket or my eyes.

写真のメールに文章はついていませんでした。
プリントアウトは写真屋さんでできますから自分
でやってください。

絵を依頼されて、喜んで描かせていただきました。
赤の他人に頼まれることはあまりないことでした
から、うれしく思いました。

しかし、目の前で書いた絵を半分に畳まれたこと、
そのままカバンに入れられたこと、あの日お礼の
財布を忘れてこられたこと、目の前で画家の水彩
画を買われたこと、送られてきた写真をみるとさら
に絵のシワが増えていたこと、今日になってああ
いう財布が送られてきたこと、写真を現像して送り
返して欲しいと言われたこと、そしてこれらについて
○○さんにおそらく悪気はないということ、

これらはすべて僕の絵や絵描きとしての今の価値
を示しています。今後も練習を積んで、描いた絵が
人に大事にされれば幸いです。

別に腹を立てているわけではありません。僕の家に
も大事にしている犬のぬいぐるみがありますから、
写真からでも愛着が伝わってきました。僕なりに心
を込めて描きましたから、なるべく捨てずにおいて
おいてくださいね。

今年も良い一年になりますように

タツノオトシゴの絵を午前中に完成させた。

夜、年賀状として完成させた。
去年のレイアウトをベースにした。

フォントをHGP明朝Bにし、
ナイトメア・アリーのバナーとアドレスを入れ、
外枠をラッキーカラーのオレンジにした。

少し広告チックな、温かい素朴な感じに仕上がった。

今年は自分の宛名を印刷にする。
相手の住所と文面は手書き。

これまでも飾ってもらうことは合ったが、
販売のために絵を画廊に置いてもらうのは初。

場所はセンター街元町～神戸駅間、
大塚歯科の上にある

にて。売価は9000円。

さて、ゆっくりやるかぁ

速描の練習もまたやりたい。

ゆっくり細かい絵を描くには、
「速く描こうと思えばいくらでも
速く描けるんだぞ馬鹿野郎」
という自信と気概が必要

と思う。

速く描くことができるからこそ、
「永遠にかかったっていいんだ、
時間は無限にある。
いつまでに仕上げるじゃなくて、
仕上がるまでやるんだ」
というテンションで
絵に臨める。

4〜5時間かかった。

染めＱ2本とシンナーに5000円。

弁当のシミは完全にに消えた。

よかったよかった(´‐ω‐｀)

染めＱでHERZのカバンをココアブラウンにしようとした。キャメル色のカバンに弁当の汁でシミがついたのは1年前。HERZは直せないって言うし、自分でやることにした。缶を使い切ったので、もう1本買う。シミは消えたが、塗りムラが...

いいねぇ。

タダ働きと一度は腐ったが、

やり直して成長のチャンスにできた。

こりゃいい経験になったぜ

年賀状に使えないのが残念だ。

竜を口にくわえさせるわけにもいかないしな

竜もまたあんまり得意ではない。
